Soul Reflections provides funeral celebrancy services throughout greater Timaru.  We also can provide service in Mid and South Canterbury, the Mackenzie Country and North Otago [and other areas by special arrangement].<\/span>

How I Became A Celebrant<\/h1>

From working through ambiguous grief with Mum, to coming close to the edge of life myself\u2026<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div>

My Mum [God bless her] is a beautiful soul. She was diagnosed quite a few years ago with Alzheimer Disease.<\/span>
\n\n
Any terminal illness makes the family deal with something called \u2018ambiguous grief\u2019, where you work through the grieving process \u2013 while they\u2019re still here.<\/span>
\n\n
This is an incredibly challenging scenario to navigate. From this experience, I believe I have developed increased compassion for others facing end-of-life situations.<\/span>
\n\n
My own life came very close a couple of times to ending [including 22 trips to ICU!] which resulted in open heart surgery to replace my main heart valve.<\/span>
\n\n
Early in 2024 while editing a video of my late Uncle, I was listening attentively to the Celebrant. With over 2 decades of Radio experience telling stories and working with crowds, it dawned on me that \u201cI\u2019d love to do this too\u201d.<\/span>
\n\n
Many assignments through training at the Celebrants Training College [celebrantstraining.co.nz] and my trainers have helped open the beautiful door to being of service to others in their time of need.<\/span>

We\u2019re based in Timaru<\/span><\/h3>

Soul Reflections Funeral Celebrancy are rurally based in Timaru.\n<\/span>

\nWe generally offer services within the greater Timaru area [yellow area on the map].<\/span>
\n\n
We acknowledge that some families are not able to come to the main centres, and we are willing to travel [for the initial interview and then return to deliver the service] at a heavily reduced kilometre rate with no additional travel time billed.

\n<\/span>Our general service area is marked in red on the map, although not absolute.<\/span>
